Newsviews: Addressing the skills gap

At a time when we hear about people struggling to find work, there are employers saying they have jobs, but can't find people with the right skills.

A recent survey by CareerBuilder found that nearly two thirds of employers are concerned this skills gap is growing. And some say it's having a negative impact on their businesses.

What can be done to address this problem?

A couple of local employers, Aon and Zurich North America, are offering apprenticeships and they're urging others to do the same.

Talking about all this are Bridget Gainer, the Vice President of Global Public Affairs for Aon and Julio Rodriguez the Deputy Director of Employment and Training for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
