Man accused of neglecting elderly live-in cousin

OAK LAWN, Ill. (WLS) -- An Oak Lawn man is accused of letting his elderly live-in cousin live in filth for more than a year.

The Daily Southtown reports police arrested Thomas Bartley after finding his 76-year-old second cousin covered in feces.

Officers were checking on the woman after she missed a doctor's appointment.

Doctors at Christ Medical Center claimed she was one of the worst cases of malnourishment they've ever seen.
