Authorities seeking non-compliant sex offenders in Lake County, Illinois

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WLS) -- Authorities are seeking help from the public in locating non-compliant sex offenders who live in the northern suburbs.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office released a list Tuesday of registered sex offenders who have active arrest warrants.

Registered sex offenders are required to physically appear at the proper sheriff's office or local police department for a weekly, quarterly or yearly registration. The sheriff's office is also responsible for checking the residential compliance of all sex offenders.

If a registered sex offender is determined to be non-compliant, sheriff's detectives seek an arrest warrant for the violation.

"These at-large sex offenders could be someone you see in the neighborhood, someone working at your local convenience store, or someone you see at local events. A tip from the public may be all it takes to aid in their apprehension," Sheriff Mark Curran said in a written release.
