CHICAGO (WLS) -- Members of both the Muslim and gay communities join together to denounce last week's deadly Orlando nightclub attack and push for equal rights for all.

CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, met with members of the LGBTQ community to say they will not stand for hate against either of their communities.

"We believe that the LGBTQ community like any other community in American or in the world are fully entitled to life, to safety and security and more over to prosperity," Ahmed Rehab, executive director of CAIR Chicago, said.

"We know that the shooter was a delusional mad man and he does represent Islamic-American values," Brian Johnson, CRO of Equality Illinois, said.

Members of both groups say everyone, no matter their background deserves civil and human rights.
