CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are warning businesses in Chicago's Loop and South Loop of several robberies targeting cashiers.

Police say in these cases the unidentified robber enters retail stores and approaches the register with items to buy, then forcibly removes the cash drawer once it is open. Police say the suspect hasn't used a weapon, but grabbed a clerk's arm and pushed the clerk away during one robbery.

The robberies have occurred during daylight hours, in the 700-block of South State Street on May 16, in the 100-block of North Wabash Avenue on June 6 and in the 500-block of South State Street on June 8.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, between 30 and 40 years old, 6 ft. 2 in. to 6 ft. 4 in. tall and 210 to 240 lbs., wearing a black baseball hat with a Chicago Bulls logo.
