CHICAGO (WLS) -- The apps on your phone entertain, inform and some are changing the U.S. workforce. We're talking about apps like Uber, Lyft and Airbnb. They allow customers to connect directly with vendors.

They also eliminate the traditional work place with a boss and a 9-to-5 schedule.

Outplacement firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas predicts the 'Uberfication' of the workforce will expand into other fields. But with change, comes challenges.
