CHICAGO (WLS) -- The city of Chicago renamed a South Side street Tuesday in honor of a local man who was one of the original Tuskegee Airmen.

A section of 57th Street between Stony Island and Cornell Drive honors the late John W. Rogers, Sr.

He was a Hyde Park resident who attended the University of Chicago Law School and opened his own law practice.

Rogers flew 120 combat missions over Europe during World War II.
