WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WLS) -- A Lake County judge dismissed one criminal count of theft against a bride who vendors claimed refused to pay them.
Patricia Fields of Libertyville faced one theft charge. A baker she hired at a recent wedding claims Fields owes her about $4,500.
The judge called the case "insufficient."
Prosecutors stand by their case, but they will not be able to bring it back to court.
Another wedding vendor made similar accusations against Fields, but her attorney told ABC7 Consumer Investigative Reporter Jason Knowles that he would only address allegations in a "court of law."
