Emanuel to announce design firm for Union Station restoration

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Mayor Rahm Emanuel is expected to announce the design firm that will restore Chicago's Union Station on Monday.

The $6 million project includes re-opening abandoned portions of the station.

The first phase of work is expected to be completed in 2018. The project is jointly funded by Amtrak, Metra, the RTA and the city of Chicago.
