Newsviews: Mikva Challenge

CHICAGO (WLS) -- "Democracy is a verb." That's the unofficial motto of the Mikva Challenge.

The organization was founded on the premise that civic and political life is better when young people are involved. It was founded by the late Abner Mikva and his wife. He was an Illinois congressman and federal judge.

Cindi Canary, a long-time board member and Burrell Poe, a former Mikva student, talk about Mikva's legacy and whether something like this is more important now than ever.
