CHICAGO (WLS) -- Ronald Posey, 28, is charged with aggravated battery for repeatedly striking a Cook County Jail correctional officer, according to jail officials.

Posey allegedly beat the officer around 9:30 p.m. on July 29, while in jail custody on gun charges. The officer was transported by ambulance to an area hospital to treat his injuries.
