Woman attacked in Illinois Medical District

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman managed to escape her attacker in the Illinois Medical District on Chicago's West Side, police said.

She was walking near West Washburne and South Western avenues around 3:45 a.m. Sunday when police said a man came up from behind and tried to force her into a building. The woman screamed and her attacker ran away.

Police describe the suspect as an African American man with a medium to dark complexion and tattoos on both arms. He is between 5 ft. 10 in. and 5 ft. 11 in. tall and weighs around 185 lbs. He has brown eyes and short, black hair with a fade. He was wearing a dark-colored t-shirt with the words "ALL DAY" on it, jeans and tennis shoes.
