Man dies after driver blows stop sign in Calumet Heights, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 61-year-old man died after he was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Chicago's Calumet Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

The victim was heading south on Stony Island Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Thursday when his car was struck by a vehicle heading east on 94th Street. Police said the driver of the other vehicle disregarded a stop sign at the intersection.

There were two men in their 30s in the striking vehicle. All three men were transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition.

The 61-year-old man was later pronounced dead. His identity has not been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
