CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Skyway maintenance workers went on strike Tuesday morning.

Ed Maher, spokesperson for Operating Engineers 150, said about 20 workers walked off the job at 7 a.m. They are picketing near the skyway in the 8800-block of South Anthony Avenue.

Their contract expired last November. These maintenance workers are responsible for clearing debris from the roadway and responding to accidents.
