BROOKFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- Visitors at Brookfield Zoo now have two new animals to see.

Two red river hog piglets, a boy and a girl, were born August 18 at the zoo. The piglets can now be seen outdoors at the Habitat Africa! The Forest.

Officials at the Chicago Zoological Society said the piglets are healthy and adjusting well to their new surroundings. The piglets have reached milestones such as nursing within an hour after birth and sleeping next to their parents, Charlotte and Little B. This was mom Charlotte's first litter.

At birth, the piglets weighed between three and four pounds each. Females can grow to about 120 and 155 pounds and males can weigh up to 250 pounds, according to officials.
