Naperville store robbed at gunpoint, police say

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Police are searching for a man and a woman who allegedly held up a store in southwest suburban Naperville and robbed several people.

Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 2800-block of South Route 59 just after 2:05 p.m. Sunday.

The suspects walked into the store, showed a weapon and took phones and other personal items from several people, police said. They both got away before officers arrived.

Witnesses told police the male suspect was wearing a mask. He was described as African American, about 5 ft. 5 in. tall and around 130 pounds. The female suspect was also described as African American. Witnesses said she was about as tall as the male suspect and weighed around 110 pounds.

Commander Jason Arres said Monday there was no surveillance video of the robbery.
