Man killed in 2-vehicle crash in Lake Station

LAKE STATION, Ind. (WLS) -- A man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Lake Station, Ind., police said.

A second person was transported via medical helicopter to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

The crash occurred at about 5 p.m. on Ripley Street/Route 6 south of Central Avenue, police said.

Ripley Street/Route 6 reopened between Central Avenue and Ridge Road around 8:40 p.m.
