Truck fire on northbound Tri-State near Dundee causes 2-mile backup

NORTHBROOK, Ill. (WLS) -- A truck fire caused massive delays on the northbound Tri-State Tollway early Tuesday morning.

The truck caught fire around 6 a.m. on the Tri-State near Dundee Road and prompted a hazardous materials response.

Emergency crews closed the two right lanes and worked for about two hours to extinguish the fire and clear the scene, causing a two-mile backup. All lanes reopened around 8 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
