BURBANK, Ill. (WLS) -- Two Chicago men were killed in a single-car accident Saturday morning in Burbank, police said.

Police were called to the scene at about 3:11 a.m. after a reported accident at 79th Street and Meade Avenue. Police arrived to find a single-car accident with two men, 25 and 26 years old, inside.

The men were not showing signs of life when police arrived. They were transported to Christ Hospital where they were both pronounced dead, police said.

Witnesses told police that the car was traveling east on 79th Street when it veered off the road, hit a lamppost and crashed into a chain-link fence.

The identities of the two men have not been released, but police said both are from Chicago.

Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash, police said.

The South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team and Cook County Medical Examiner's Office are assisting in the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Burbank Police Department Investigative Unit at 708-924-7300.
