CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel will take over the radio Monday for a live 30-minute interview about the issues facing the city.

More than 40 stations in the Chicago area will carry the Chicago Radio Town Hall Meeting, which will be moderated by Illinois Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame broadcast journalist Bill Kurtis.

It comes two days before City Council takes a final vote on the mayor's budget, which includes the hiring of nearly 1,000 new police officers.

Chicago residents can submit questions for the mayor online at www.chicagoradiostations.com.

The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Monday.
