2 fatally stabbed in Posen home identified

POSEN, Ill. (WLS) -- Two people fatally stabbed in a home in south suburban Posen were identified Friday morning.

Police responded around 8 p.m. Thursday to a home on Richmond Avenue near 149th Street. It is unclear what led to the stabbing. A woman and a man were critically injured.

They were identified to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Rosemary Bonert, 61, and John W. Bonert, 41, both of the 14900-block of Richmond Avenue in Posen.

Rosemary Bonert was transported to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where she was pronounced dead at 8:54 p.m. John Bonert was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:13 p.m., the medical examiner's office said. The relationship between the two was not disclosed.

An investigation is underway.
