Robbers steal purse, batter victim in Naperville

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Naperville police are searching for two women they say robbed and beat another woman at a business in Naperville.

Police responded to a business in the 1600-block of Pebblewood Lane at about 9 a.m. Saturday, police said. The robbers entered the store and stole a victim's purse. The victim was battered by the robbers while attempting to prevent the theft, police said.

The suspects fled the store in a late model, silver Nissan SUV, last seen in the intersection of Diehl Road and Route 59, police said. The victim did not require medical attention.

Both suspects are described as women in their 20s, police said. One suspect is described by police as 5'06" with black hair and wearing black framed glasses and a gray winter coat and jeans. The other suspect is described as 5'04", black hair and wearing a large blue winter coast and dark colored jeans.
