Firefighter injured in South Side blaze, CFD says

A Chicago firefighter was injured Saturday evening while battling a house fire on Chicago's South Side.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago firefighter was injured Saturday evening while battling a house fire on Chicago's South Side.

The fire broke out at 5:39 p.m. at the intersection of 116th Street and Lowe Avenue, fire officials said.

The firefighter was hit by equipment and sustained non-life threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
