2 people, dog rescued from semi truck accident on Route 53 in Long Grove

LONG GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- Two people and a dog were rescued from a nasty crash Wednesday afternoon in Long Grove.

Police say a semi carrying two large rolls of steel rolled off the ramp from Route 53 to Lake Cook Road.

First responders found a dog running around the truck with two people trapped inside.

Crews pulled the two out of the cab and took them to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The dog was not hurt.
