2 shot, 1 killed in Englewood

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two men were shot and one killed in Englewood just after 2:30 p.m., Chicago police say.

Police say the shooting took place in the 6700-block of South Loomis. A 39-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to Christ Hospital where he died, and a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to Holy Cross Hospital where he is in stable condition, according to police.

Police say the men were on a front porch when someone came out of a gangway and opened fire before fleeing. Area South police are investigating.
