Man, 67, injured in Kenwood shooting, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was shot Saturday afternoon in Chicago's Kenwood neighborhood, Chicago police said.

The 67-year-old man was leaving church and walking to his car in the 4600-block of South Drexel Blvd at around 1:43 p.m. when a gray SUV drove by and someone inside the SUV fired shots. The man was shot in the hip and stomach. A parked car was also struck by a few bullets.

The man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition, police said.

No one was in custody Saturday afternoon. Area Central detectives are investigating.
