2 killed, 1 injured in unincorporated McHenry crash

MCHENRY, Ill. (WLS) -- Two people were killed and a third person injured after a single-vehicle crash in unincorporated McHenry Saturday night, the McHenry County Sheriff's Office said.

Authorities responded to reports of a single vehicle crash in the 1400-block of Lily Lake Road at about 11:48 p.m.

Police said an SUV ran off the roadway and crashed into a tree. The 29-year-old driver of the SUV and a 33-year-old man sitting in the rear were both pronounced dead at the scene.

A 23-year-old man sitting in the front passenger seat was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. All three crash victims are from Crystal Lake.

The driver and front seat passengers were wearing seat belts. The rear passenger was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

The driver has been identified to the McHenry County Coroner's Office as Allan Javier Sanchez Gamez and the passenger killed has been identified as Timoteo Guzman Mejia

McHenry County Sheriff's Traffic Crash Investigations Unit is investigating the crash.
