Auditorium Theater adds evening tours

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Starting this week, the Auditorium Theater will offer evening tours. Every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., visitors will be able to walk through the historic venue, which originally opened in 1889.

A National Historic Landmark, the space boasts original stained glass windows and flooring. Some of the seating, in the upper balconies, is original as well. On the tour, you'll see all of this and gaze up at the magnificent gold leaf archways.

Tours have previously been (and continue to be offered) on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. as well as on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. But now, you can swing by after work and enjoy a drink while learning about the theater's history.
