2nd heat-related death recorded for year in Cook County

CHICAGO -- A 69-year-old woman who died last week is the second heat-related death of the year in Cook County.

Ellean Williams, 69, was found dead in her South Austin home on Sunday. She died of complications from heat stress and heart disease, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The county's first heat-related death was also reported on Sunday, when temperatures reached into the 90s. Darlene Lipske, 70, also died of heart disease and heat stress.
