CHICAGO (WLS) -- Three people were charged in the concealment of a 4-year-old boy's death on Chicago's South Side.

Alyssa Garcia, 27; Christian Camarena, 19; and a 17-year-old boy were taken into custody late Tuesday night after the child's body was found wrapped in a burned blanket in the basement of an abandoned home.

The child was identified to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Manuel Aguilar, of the 6400-block of South Wolcott Avenue.

Police and firefighters responded to a report of arson in progress around 9:45 p.m. in the 1400-block of West Marquette Road in the city's Englewood neighborhood.

Officers saw three people running from the scene and smelled lighter fluid on them. All three were taken into custody for questioning.

Garcia, of the 6400-b lock of South Wolcott Avenue, and Camarena, of the 3600-block of West 56th Place, and the 17-year-old boy were later charged with concealment of death and attempted arson. They are all due in Bond Court Thursday.

Additional charges are possible, pending autopsy results from the medical examiner.

A spokesperson with the Department of Children and Family Services said they are investigating allegations of abuse and neglect. The spokesperson said DCFS had prior contact with Aguilar's family in 2012 and 2016.
