3-year-old girl dies following trip to dentist

SAN RAMON, Calif. -- An East Bay family is struggling to find answers after their 3-year-old daughter died following a trip to the dentist.

Marvalena Rady died after becoming unresponsive at a dental office in San Ramon on Saturday, police say.

Her father said she died either at the dentist's office or shortly after at the hospital.

She apparently developed complications during a dental procedure at Dental Bliss on Deerwood Road.

"When we arrived here, San Ramon Valley Fire was already on scene performing CPR," SRPD Sgt. Nathan Jones said.

Rady's father didn't offer any other details.

San Ramon police say it's not yet clear if there will be a criminal investigation.
