The flu season is costing businesses about $15 billion in lost productivity.

Employers have been impacted by the flu season.

The average person will call in sick four times this winter with illness.

Sirmara Campbell, of Chicago staffing firm LaSalle Network, visited the ABC7 studio on Wednesday and said that's a good thing because going to work sick is not a good idea.

Campbell said that employers should tell all employees to stay home when they are sick.

She also gave tips for businesses looking to prevent the flu from spreading in their workplace.
