THE SPICE GIRLS

So what's up with The Spice Girls. First, TMZ reports they are getting back together and going on tour. Then Victoria "Posh" Beckham shoots them down saying neither she nor the girls are going on tour. But your hopes should not be dashed. franklyHANK has learned that a UK PR firm confirms they have been hired by super producer of TV and music, Simon Fuller, to represent The Spice Girls. They even go as far as to say, "Exciting news will be announced soon." So what's happening? Beckham did not say they were not reuniting. She said they were not going on tour. I think The Spice Girls are planning a UK and US residency. Springsteen did a stint on Broadway and Billy Joel played a series of concerts at Madison Square Garden. I can easily see The Spice Girls playing one location in NYC or Vegas. We shall see.

MELISSA MCCARTHY & TIFFANY HADDISH

Queens of comedy... Plainfield native Melissa McCarthy and rising star Tiffany Haddish could team up for a new film from director and screenwriter Andrea Berloff. "The Kitchen," based on the DC Comics series will be Berloff's directorial debut. She was the screenwriter for "Straight Outta Compton," a gritty drama. And "The Kitchen" is a gritty drama. Yes, McCarthy and Haddish could be teaming up for a drama. Set in 1970's Hell Kitchen in NYC, when their mob husbands go to prison, they take over the business and the wives are far worse than their husbands ever were. Look for it in 2019 if it happens.

LENA WAITHE

Chicago native Lena Waithe is on a hot streak. She won an Emmy for her work on "Master of None." Her Showtime series, "The Chi," just got picked up for a second season, and now TBS has ordered a pilot based on her comedy Web series, "Twenties." "Twenties" focuses on a queer woman living her life on YouTube and talking you know what with her friends. Waithe will make the pilot and hope for a series pick-up.

"INCREDIBLES 2"

Disney/Pixar released a new trailer for "Incredibles 2" due out June 15. Check it out below.
