CHICAGO (WLS) -- Students at two Chicago high schools walked out of class Friday to show support for victims of the Parkland, Florida, shooting massacre.

"He was probably not so different from me and he could be standing in a field in Florida holding up a sign with my face on it," said Abraham Zelchenko, a U of C Lab School student.

The rally urged congressional action to prevent future gun violence in schools.

The walkout lasted 17 minutes, one for each of the Parkland victims.

There was a similar walkout at Senn High School as a part of the #enough National School Walkout. The students marched through the neighborhood in support of gun control.

The walkouts are the most recent among several similar protests around the Chicago area in the wake of the Parkland shooting.
