HOUSTON -- Four teenagers are accused of robbing a GameStop store on the North Freeway and then going to school to hide.

All four suspects are believed to be students at Dekaney High School, according to Spring ISD. A spokesperson would give no information on their ages or which grades they were in.

The students, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, took cash from the store at gunpoint. A deputy spotted their car a few miles away and chased it onto the campus of Dekaney. Two suspects were arrested in the parking lot. Two more ran inside.

The school was placed on lockdown as law enforcement launched an intensive search inside the building.

"You see police pulling out weapons and running everywhere, running past everybody," said one young student. "It's crazy how kids could do such a thing," the student said of his classmates.

The remaining pair were caught without incident inside the school. Gonzalez didn't know if they attempted to hide in plain sight in a classroom or if they were hiding. A student basketball player said he and other players were told to stay in the locker room until it was over.

All four suspects are believed to be 17 or older, which means they face prosecution as adults. They were taken to the robbery division on Lockwood for questioning.

Guns believed to have been used in the robbery were also recovered from school property.

"There were some weapons. I don't know if they were inside the school or outside but some weapons were recovered," said the sheriff.

The lockdown at Dekaney and a neighboring elementary school lasted until regular dismissal time.
