American Girl Store introduces 'Girl of the Year'

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The American Girl Store introduced a new doll Thursday as part of its New Year's Day tradition.

The 2015 "Girl of the Year" is Grace Thomas.

The doll debuted at the brand's Water Tower Place location on Thursday. She loves to cook and wants to start her own French baking business. As always, there is a book that tells her story.

Special activities will take place at the store all day to celebrate the new doll.

American Girl is also launching a fundraising program for Grace to support the "No Kid Hungry" campaign.
