CHICAGO (WLS) -- Turbo Tax is processing state returns again. The company stopped taking them Thursday night after noticing an increase in suspicious filings.

Scam artists were apparently trying to use stolen personal information to file fraudulent returns that would result in very real refunds.

Turbo Tax doesn't think this was the result of a breach of its system. Around 30 million Americans use the company's software to prepare their taxes.
