6 garages broken into on Chicago's Northwest Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are warning residents on Chicago's Northwest Side of six garage burglaries in the last month.

Authorities said in four cases, suspects used a vehicle to force the garage door open and property was stolen from inside. In two cases, overhead garage doors were damaged but no property was taken.

Three burglaries occurred last weekend: one in the 3700-block of North Central Park Avenue between 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday, one in the 4000-block of North Harding Avenue between 7 p.m. Saturday and 4:15 p.m. Sunday and one in the 3900-block of North Kimball Avenue between 11 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday.

The other three burglaries occurred in the 4900-block of North Tripp Avenue around 11:52 p.m. on Jan. 13, in the 3500-block of north Kilpatrick Avenue between 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 15 and 1 a.m. on Jan. 16 and in the 3800-block of North Lawndale Avenue between 12 a.m. and 6:35 a.m. on Feb. 8.

Police do not have a description of the burglary suspects. But in one case, a black minivan was seen in an alley driving away from a damaged garage.
