CHICAGO (WLS) -- The election for alderman of Chicago's 33rd Ward could be heading to a runoff after claims of broken rules on Election Day. The 33rd Ward is on the city's North Side and includes the Albany Park and Ravenswood Manor neighborhoods.

On Tuesday, lawyers for Tim Meegan's campaign will file a challenge for the election results, demanding a recount.

So far, incumbent Ald. Deb Mell could avoid an April runoff with two more votes than she needs.

Poll watchers claim Mell volunteers intimidated voters and committed several other election violations.

Absentee ballots are still being counted, so there's a chance there could still be a runoff even without the campaign challenge.
