Polar Plunge raises more than $1.2M for Special Olympics Chicago

Actor Vince Vaughn took the Polar Plunge into icy Lake Michigan in Chicago on Sunday.

The event that lured singer Lady Gaga and actor Vince Vaughn into the icy waters of Lake Michigan raised more than $1.2 million.

The Special Olympics says the 15th annual Polar Plunge last Sunday broke all fundraising goals. Lady Gaga, Vaughn, and more than 4,500 others participated.

The money funds year-round activates in Chicago as well as Special Olympic uniforms, equipment and transportation for the athletes.
