'Red Sari Evening' raises heart disease awareness

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A special event Saturday night at the Macy's on State Street aims to raise awareness about an epidemic of heart disease in the South Asian community.

Organizers of "A Red Sari Evening" say South Asians face a much higher risk for deadly heart disease than other ethnicities.

All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the South Asian cardiovascular center.
