CHICAGO (WLS) -- Sen. Dick Durbin is calling for a Food and Drug Administration investigation of claims that Beneful dry kibble dog food contains toxins.

A lawsuit claims the food is making pets sick and even killing some of them.

A Florida lawyer tells ABC News he's working with attorneys across the country to bring a class action lawsuit.

Purina makes Beneful and tells ABC there isn't a problem and two class action lawsuits against the company were dismissed.
