CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was alert and talking after being struck by falling glass from a building on the city's Near North Side, officials said.
The man suffered a laceration to his head after the glass fell around noon Thursday near Rush and Ontario, officials said. The man was alert and transported to a local hospital.
Department of Buildings officials said ductwork from a ceiling fell and struck a window during permitted wall demolition between floors 8-20 of the building.
Traffic on eastbound Erie is being diverted at Wabash, and Rush is closed between Ontario and Erie.
