CHICAGO (WLS) -- A mentally ill inmate somehow climbed up on top of an air vent Friday morning at the Cook County Jail.
Staff members were able to coax the man into climbing down a ladder to safety.
The Cook County Sheriff's office said this is just one example of the many challenges jail staff face when dealing with mentally ill inmates.
