SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- A new state-wide poll shows Gov. Bruce Rauner's approval rating is dropping after a little more than two months in office.

The Southern Illinois University poll shows Rauner's overall approval rating is at 36 percent. He's still drawing support from republicans, where his approval rating is still above 60 percent.

The poll shows his strongest support comes from downstate republicans.

Rauner is Illinois' first Republican governor since George Ryan left office in 2003.
