CHICAGO (WLS) -- People across Chicago are working to make prom special for high school girls all over the city.

The "Glass Slipper Project" kicked off Saturday at Agassiz Elementary School in Lincoln Park.

The organization, along with UsAgain clothing recycler, accepts donations of gently used formal dresses and dress shoes.

UsAgain has drop boxes for dresses and shoes at several locations across the city, or you can donate them at 12 different ward offices.
