Hamlin Park event opens new playground

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Park District and community members dedicated a new playground Sunday as part of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's "Chicago Plays" program.

The dedication and ribbon-cutting took place at Hamlin Park in the 3000-block of Hoyne Avenue in the city's West Lakeview neighborhood.

The chilly weather didn't seem to dampen any enthusiasm at the event and afterward children enjoyed an Easter egg hunt.
