Chicago Park District summer program, day camp online registration begins

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Online registration for Chicago Park District summer programs begins Monday, April 13.

More than 40,000 children ages 6-12 take part in the park district's summer day camps each year. They go on field trips, explore nature, get creative with art activities and play sports, among other activities.

Most summer programs run the week of June 16 through the week of Aug. 18. Most day camps run for six weeks, from June 29 - Aug. 7.

Camp lasts about six hours per day, Monday through Friday. Many parks offer early morning and late-day sessions as well.

Online day camp registration begins on Monday, April 13 at 9 a.m.

In-person registration for summer programs will be Saturday, April 18, or Monday, April 20, depending on the park.
