CHICAGO (WLS) -- Archbishop Blase Cupich is continuing to celebrate Holy Week, his first as archbishop of Chicago.

Saturday night, the archbishop celebrated Easter Vigil Mass at Holy Name Cathedral as part of Holy Saturday.

Easter water was blessed and the Easter candle was also lit. Hundreds of adults were also baptized and received into the Catholic Church.

Sunday the archbishop will celebrate Easter Sunday with Mass at Saint Julie Church in Tinley Park.

The archbishop's predecessor will spend Easter Sunday at home.

Francis Cardinal George left Loyola University Hospital last Friday after spending a week getting treatment for dehydration and pain related to his battle with cancer.

In a statement, the cardinal says he is deeply grateful for the care he's received and wishes everyone a joyful Easter.
