Elgin High School lockdown lifted

ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- The soft lockdown at Elgin High School was lifted. The school was placed on lockdown after police were called around 9:30 a.m. about a student bringing a gun to school.

Elgin police say that officers arrived at the school at 1200 Maroon Drive and took a student into custody, but say he did not have a gun with him at that time. Police say no one was threatened or hurt.

The police searched the school, but no gun was recovered.
